It's surprising how far Brazil has come in terms of financial transactions. Truly something amazing.

It's also unsurprising to see outlets like The Economist somewhat criticise this, along with fintech corporations, because the government is offering a free and high quality alternative to something that companies would have done exactly the same but for money.

No one's saying that you should take an absolute standpoint. I'm just asking, what's wrong with China since you made that comment as if China is bad for some reason.

> Let's not confuse the company with the country

What's wrong with China? They're wonderful in the OSS ecosystem.

I'd rather not play stupid games for barely a prize worth it. With other words, I don't want US immigrations officers going through my phone, seeing a Trump critical message and throwing me into a hole for two weeks. I'd rather pick safer destinations :)

Yes. As someone publicly critical of the Trump administration, I don't want my entire social media presence crawled by immigration officers, just to end up in some detention centre for weeks or months. I'd rather just stay at home or travel to safer countries like Canada or Mexico.

Sadly too many people on HN are part of the tech right, or straight up crypto bros and hate seeing these headlines.

I have family in the US that I used to visit on a yearly basis, and as of this year I am afraid to visit them ever again. I'm an engineer with a very good income and a very stable life where I live. I would never immigrate illegally to the US to do some illegal job for scraps. And yet here we are, no one is safe. Anyone can end up in one of these hellholes.

Time to move away from Apple before they train their AI Models on the rest of my data that they left untouched

Free speech absolutists, am I right?

Oh no! You're banned now! Look, the international word police has put a warrant out for you.

And other problems that do not exist.

Funny. Who would've thought that a shitshow of an administration will bring instability?

LMAO. You clearly need to read more about Hitler's rise to power and how he was actually elected. You people really do not understand politics nor democracy.

That ban is imaginary. It never existed. Many people decided to use other terms at their free will and others didn't. Both terms can be still found in plenty of projects.

I've already switched to Tuta since it's a company that aligns with my own values a lot more. Cancelled my proton subscription.
