Well it is engineers fault. But not that engineers. Some engineer designed a system without extreme oversight that should be involved in the process.

I really wonder do they even audit the discussion outside their own comments. You can absolute notice how popular the option of not "auditing" code is in their AI-tribe. Best they do is have it review it or make tests... Not actually read the later either...

And then when someone does audit the stuff output is questionable... Telling that it is most likely not that brilliant.

I am thinking that just maybe the "load bearing" (for AI terms) components should have quite more oversight. Which might go away unless they are actually human authored...

Problem with those expensive treatments is that there are not that many cases. So profit from each is big but overall they add up to less. Getting everyone who can afford it on planet on some relatively cheap drug would be lot more profitable overall.

Get million out of thousand people or ten out of billion people... Later would be preferable.

Cell phone provider is funny one here. Effectively most efficient thing to do is to get a deal from competitor and then accept winback offer from them. You can not even properly negotiate for deals very often but somehow those winbacks end up being near best deals. Last time I got negative deal for them. Meaning my mobile and wired internet ended up less than wired internet was before...

I have sometimes observed that dinner plates are surprisingly expensive in pricing. Or at least sometimes they seem to. You do get really cheap ones too. But on average it seems many are quite or somewhat expensive.

Not getting yelled at most likely. There are enough vocal people who complain if these machines do not act "fair". So it often is easier just to change how they operate and not have to listen as much of that.

Sometimes I wonder about efficiency part. How efficient these big budget titles are? How much many man hours spend of them are actually waste? It does get to back to whole broken window thing. Demand was generate but was it usefully spend? Indie is most likely doing whole thing in much more efficient way. With slightly different product but still often something acceptable.

Is more jobs better than less jobs? Or does this apply to only certain things?

500 million sounds actually pretty cheap for amount of IP they must hold at this point. Some it very big some of it future potential. Even 800 million would have been cheap. They simply do have big catalog of things.

Because that is where the existing roads, power and internet connections are. Might not be that significant investment to build those in context of scale. But still it simplifies many steps in building.

But LLMs can do that now? Surely you could only have one or a few people managing everything with them. Or just have them build code that fully automates also that. After all software should be solved issue. So no point of not automating software for all aspects needed and then letting LLMs handle the rest.

It is not anything special pretty much standard industrial forest in normal growthy cycle. Just that it seems some steps were skipped in the process.

It really seems to be weird model. Get a hit, get acquired, replace insert corporate culture. Which really doesn't work as most games are not tech products like others with continuous revenue.

It kinda works for those who get that one long term hit and after that can just deliver not much else...

Hundreds of kilometres of good quality electric railway infra is expensive to maintain. And by good quality I mean capable of relatively decent speeds like say 120-160 km/h. With airports you need to maintain lot less.
