How do you figure Sisco was better in all those ways? I haven’t seen most of DS9 but I can’t imagine Picard being easily outshined.

Yeah talk about out of touch, does OP have that much? I’ve been in tech for 10 years, don’t have anywhere close to 5 million.

Do you read all libraries and basal low level code beneath your projects? Do you understand fully the entire stack from you to silicon? If not this is just more layers of abstraction.

Whatever would give them that idea…

They’re comparable in an exponential view. I remember the librarian teaching us how to look through boxes of cards. Then Google came out a few years later. For a couple decades, Google-fu was a superpower that most people didn’t know they needed.

Imagine Quoting anything from 2021 in a Thread about AI in 2026

Yeah a ton of great builds consumed. This is HN. There’s amazing bespoke tech everywhere and it’s oversupplied, that’s the real reason OP doesn’t get traction.

Just because you and the system of VCs and angels like a bro with connections and charm doesn’t mean we here do.

It’s a Lose for the employees of the current system. You’re cheekily superiorly saving a few bucks on a cause that isn’t going to be helped by snubbing a servicing worker.

There are a few tip free restaurants around, it’s sort of rare. Tipping at basically every random shop is out of control nowadays tho.

Is it? They’re pricier, they’re not available in food deserts, they go bad much more quickly, and they require more skill to cook into a delicious meal.

What specifically is smarmy and weird? Sounds like your own hot take with zero analysis.

They’re limiting frontier model development speed. Others are too. Pacing is the only word here to criticize, and I think it’s fine given the limiting of speed but also increased oversight. I’m not saying they’re fully doing this, but the term is fine.

Do you have a better proposed phrase?

It may not be true that “most people who know what they’re doing” aren’t using AI. It’s infiltrating into every big company, thousands of very skillful people are all-in blasting out tons of code and work with it. I’m not saying that’s good or bad, just stating the view from industry is: heavy use often encouraged.

All writing is thinking when done by a human, you’re literally distilling your thoughts into words. You can’t write without thought.

And not all thinking is writing is a clear truism, there’s no point to even stating that.

Writing helps us think about the world, it’s a pivotal intellectual technology.

It’s one piece of many. They never said it was the only piece. You’re straw-manning this comment.

And vegan diets would make a big dent, look up agricultural sector emissions, look up beef emissions and methane from their burps. It’s a major factor after transport and electricity.

Wow obscure reference, the cookies are the AI in this? OpenAI and anthropic are Frog and Toad?

Flag this user for homophobic anti semitism, worst comment I’ve ever seen on HN.

How are they green and allowed to comment 10 mins after creation?
