This is great as someone just getting into Hacker News. It was really cool seeing the whole history of posts, I was thinking about major events I knew of to see if they showed up, some did and some didnt. For example I am surprised there was no major posts regarding Bitcoin until late 2013.

I especially like the most upvoted good news and sad news. Great job!

Yeah after reading the article all it concluded was, Bitcoin is still safe and then they past the threat to quantum computing. Typical clickbait.

As a human I agree with dogs that 'Bouba' is round and 'Kiki' is spiky.

In all seriousness, and I am surprised the article does not mention this, as dumb as it sounds Kiki has "sharp" sounds when pronouncing it and "Bouba" has a softer feel to it when pronouncing it.

As the article says it does not matter what language you speak, a word that quickly changes the sound back and forth to the same thing sounds sharp because that is how sharp things look and feel. The serration on a knife has the same angle on either side leading to a point. This is what makes sense to me as to why we correspond Kiki to something sharp.

Pure nostalgia looking at the Shrek menu. It makes you wonder if the designs are actually good or if nostalgia is convincing us that they are good. Some definitely are well made and thought out, but others seemed like they just made them fancy because they could. Shrek 1's menu was a whole experience.

The UI and UX design is inspiring! Goes to show that people can still be creative and innovative with website ideas in the AI age. Beautifully done.

Extremely happy more geothermal power plants are being created! In my opinion it is the best and most reliable renewable energy resource in geothermal active places.

I have always been a big proponent of geothermal energy as a reliable renewable resource. Not everywhere is geothermal active (or at least it is very hard to harness in many areas) but in the areas geothermal energy is readily available I don't know why it is not utilized more often, even if it is initially expensive.

In areas like California, or anywhere along an ocean coast that also has geothermal activity, there should be geothermal desalination plants. Solves the issue of desalination being highly energy intensive. One of my favorite college papers I wrote was on using geothermal energy for desalination. After researching it, I could not believe it was not being utilized more.
