Yeah, imagine the joy of chasing your dinner through savannah with nothing but a pointy stick. Feel free to do that, btw, but I will stick to living in a civilized society.

That's another funny consequence of this conflict: Trump is proud of himself, because he thinks lower exports hurt China, while US oil companies are making record profits. In reality: China's oil reserves are so huge they can last really long time, while their speed up their transformation to renewable energy.

Not sure about this ship, but US Navy shot plenty of civilian ships, those associated with Iran. At this point US isn't even trying to pretend their actions are lawful, by going to UN and trying to pass some resolution against Iran, they are just "we do not like Iran, so we'll strike their ships". But when Iran does the same MAGAs suddenly remember that international law exists.

But Russia is not a member of ICC. So, ICC going after Putin contradicts the logic from your earlier post in this thread. It's not 125 countries agreeing to police each other, it's them going after a country outside their own group.

The point of the United States of America is to take care of its citizens. A "better qualified brown person" has their own country where they can apply for jobs without any restrictions. Them coming to US is a privilege, not a right. And I say it as H-1B visa holder from Europe.

Well, India and China have 1.5B people each. Even if people there were actually less talented than in the US (as a percentage of people passing some bar), you would still expect the absolute number of applications from those countries to be high.

But you need an employer filing petition on your behalf. That's the fucked up part. It should be like in any other country: If you have lived in the US for at least 5 years (assuming you got here legally), you should be able to file a green card petition, or even directly apply for citizenship yourself, without your employer even knowing.

In Terry Pratchett's "Long Earth" there was a superintelligent AI that got legal recognition as a person by claiming to be reincarnation of some Tibetan monk that happened to die at the exact second when that AI was first turned on :)

No. Per-mile just means “per 1000 parts” just like per-cent means „per 100 parts”
