Hey, I'm the main contributor to this repo. I do review the code - the reason why all of the commits are shown in a short time is just because of the way that I rebase on upstream Immich.

I have been working on this project for 6 months, and (contrary to what the Immich team posts every single time my project is mentioned) I do not blindly vibe code - or are folks saying that blindly vibe coding 40+ working features while staying in sync with upstream over 6 months is possible?

I really enjoy working on this project and have been building everything that I felt missing in my setup. If you try it out and aren't happy with it, every release ships with a script that reverts your db to Immich, so you're never locked in.

Cheers! Pierre

I guess it depends on how you use it and what the expectations are. I'm definitely in the camp of working way more, but it's just because I enjoy using AI to build.

Sounds like you're nitpicking on whether or not LLMs make you faster by saying that working on existing code is easier than starting from scratch? I think you've missed the point.

Just create a skill for it -> I call mine `babysit`. It spins up a subagent that polls it every x minutes and auto-fixes it until it's green. I already continue with the next task while it does that in the background

Just tell it to use TDD

To be honest, the official superpowers/brainstorming skill already does TDD so well, I don't see that much of a need for this. TDD is definitely the way to go with agentic development.

I don't want it to end up in that repo anymore, hence the fork. I've got a growing community of people who have been eagerly awaiting this feature and a ton more that I built.

I definitely could write this by hand - the stuff I built in the last 10 years before LLMs was more complex than this - but theres no way I'm spending all my free time to slowly craft something if I can just use AI and get the same results much faster

I'm the person working on that fork. Yes, it has now diverged 200k+ lines, but half of that is specs, research and documentation and includes a month worth of work.

The comment in question was a small feature of about 1.5k lines changed and it was solidly tested.

I have a LOT planned (see the roadmap for a sneak peak https://opennoodle.de/roadmap).

My first focus is sharing, search and discoverability.

The biggest issue is that I have thousands of photos but I don't have a good way of filtering by person, date, location, and finding exactly what I'm looking for. Basically browsing my photos like I would browse an online store like Zalando. Search for something and refine with filters.

In addition - I implemented S3-like storage. Makes it cheap and easy to host in the cloud.

Go ahead and make a feature request for it, sounds like something I could build soon :)

Thanks for the hint, I fixed it
