"Fine. Please no. I'm out..." in that order

I've always hated interfaces that try to complete my sentences for me. It started with suggested replies in email and IM apps. I sure noticed it when they started showing up in the llm chat interfaces and it really bugs me.

Maybe the hardware damage is due to a misconfigured SDR frontend causing antenna impedance mismatch?

That could explain why a firmware update can prevent bricks, but not restore devices already damaged.

I found your commit and your usage of AI seemed reasonable. It seems to me like your PR itself and the subsequent comments and correspondence was also human written.

I think a PR "in flight" shouldn't have been closed like that.

All this will do is push out developers like you that honestly disclose, and instead people will now just lie.

> Heterogeneity belongs in the type system, not in the runtime.

Is the intent that applications developed with this are compiled for target hardware on a machine-specific basis?

e.g. I define a machine file for my i5 and GTX3080, and another machine file for my gnarly datacenter rack, and the compiler compiles specifically for each?

That way the same source file is "provable" for different hardware configurations without relying on a runtime to be identicallu implemented?

People that think using AI for basic stuff like promotional posters and menus is a good idea have no idea there's a large(?) subset of the population who is instantly repulsed by it.

Before AI, such designs were neutral to positive. AI versions can create extreme negative polarization.

Why take the risk?

The Reddit team talks about RSS like it got hit by a truck or something.

> Sorry about this - we're sad too, RSS feeds have had a great long life on the open web.

> We know RSS feeds have been a beloved open web tool.

Correction: RSS HAS a great life on the open web, RSS IS a beloved open web tool.

The cynic in me thinks this will end up being a honeypot for anyone asking sensitive immigration or tax questions.

Isn't it the case that public companies owe a primary legal/fiduciary duty to shareholders over customers?

The question of choice between a profitable vs unprofitable venture is easy. But yeah, to what extent is choosing profitable instead of VERY profitable a breach of duty to shareholders?

I don't know about you but after a few seconds, I wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

I'm glad I didn't have to spam the back button to do it.

When these came out, I thought, what is the average PC user going to get out of this? Faster image touchups, and...? You can't run an LLM chatbot of any comparison to free cloud models.

Oh yeah, and Recall. That worked out well.

Maybe there's something to be said for allowing the art style to make room for imagination.

Plus when you talk into a phone, your voice bouncing off the glass causes natural tendency to control vocal volume.

With buds, people just shout into the void... Or the bus...

Not the parent commenter but I've found RSS feeds have replaced most of my desire to browse reddit, and other social media. You can even paste a YouTube channel into a feed reader to get a true channel subscriptions feed.
