Seems great? Is Google back in the ring? Now they "just" need a competent harness...

But damn, is (talking about) releasing a new SOTA model two weeks after the previous one stupid. Do they not plan these things? Argon shouldn't be released at all if you're going to put out "argon 1.1" few weeks later.

You want to be edging.

Factually incorrect. Ukraninian drones or missiles flying over Russia are not using StarShield or Starlink. These are enabled by the US Gov / SpaceX only over Ukraine.

The long range strikes you're seeing have other nav methods (gps, intertial, etc.). I'm sure if Iran can figure it out, Ukraine can too...

Oracle needs to hurry up and get downgraded to junk status at which point it will raise shit and at which point it will finally send off the avalanche of normalization across this industry.

There needs to be cleansing with fire. Weeds need to die. Trees need their branches cut. The sooner the better.

A shitty ass random "ai" startup built entirely on hype and astroturfing should not be raising anywhere near this amount of money.

It not silly at all. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. From their point of view, they would rather have increased error rate if it means faster shipping speed. This is nothing new, AI just multiplied it. Startups especially want to ship fast and look at longevity later. Unless this drive is countered by someone up the chain who wants to do things properly, it will naturally happen and you can't do anything about it. Well you can, but then you will be explaining to your manager why your tasks are done so slowly when Chad Vibeson over there shipped 5 features and 100k lines of code last month alone.

> However, I think that this is a temporary situation and that soon companies are going to realize that vibe coding at speed suffers from worse complexity explosion issues than well understood, deliberate coding does.

If you're working for a company where the the top level of management doesn't have a CS background, don't expect this to happen.

Yea not the "making" part even (at least not yet). Every single demo/sample of a vibecoded* game thing is a piss poor "counter strike clone" or "gta clone" type of app that has bare bones everything (and i mean PS2 level or worse) and plays like absolute ass down to the basics of character control ans basic gameplay mechanics.

*: I don't consider a project you built with an LLM to be "vibecoded" if all the important ideas are from your head, you know what the code is supposed to be doing (domain model is in your head) and you guided the project every step of the way. Otherwise we're all vibecode. So yea, I don't doubt you can create amazing games with AI, but "with" as in "together", not as in "Claude, build me a Minecraft clone, make it fun, no mistakes."

It's French, duh. They'll probably surrender half of the company to the Germans after receiving a strongly (compound-)worded letter.

> I still haven’t found an IDE that I feel really helps me develop with AI better than the command line.

With Codex GUI app and Astra you can communicate through screenshosts and collages. WAY faster and more precise for many types of jobs and workflows. Literally just scribble crap into the screens and it knows... no need to write out 50 paragraphs of prose to describe a button and its position.

The real problem is the DRAM mafia and artificial scarcity. One of my notebooks is almost 3 years old, effectively similar spec now - same price (a bit higher actually). My desktop PC built around march/april 2023 (4090, 64gb ram, 7900x3d) is now pretty much still the top dog out there due to the gpu and fast ram insanity and if I wanted to sell it today, I'd get more money for it now used and over 3 years old that when I bought it!

We should be having 64/72+ GB video cards by now. 128GB+ system ram prosumer laptops and 256GB+ system ram prosumer/gamer desktops. But it all went to shit and it will require some brutal datacenter and datacenter-adjacent bankruptcies before it gets better.

Some of these greedy bastards need to lose their pants on all of this.
