Yeah you could tell immediately when you opened it up. It was just a copy of others work.

Actual journalism is difficult and costly to try and ensure speedy and accurate as possible reporting. The wiki model doesn't work like that.

They are using the usual techniques. All successful negative things always have a claim to virtue.

Highlight the positives, hide the negatives.

Can run at 77Mhz... very nice!

Other than that, the design looks a lot more appealing than the all clear cases they have with most of their other versions. It is a good mid-ground between beige bland and LED madness.

True, in avoiding starving today, we take short cuts unaware they are bring more starving to tomorrow.

I am surprised it was still running. But it does feel like it has finally had its lunch eaten by automation of these tasks.

I fear that the US is burning through the most valuable resource of them all, Trust.

Not surprised that the Apple Vision division is getting hit. With Ternus coming in, he will both be wanting to show to investors that the hard cuts can be made, but also use it as a chance to clear out some of the lesser products while saving face for the company.

I suspect we might see a 3rd revision of the Apple Vision but I'm not sure there will be a 4th unless there is a significant change to the overall product.

As many said when it first came out, it is brilliant technology but it has struggled to find an question for it to answer.

I mean it is good advice but I suspect that the happiest people around, you would never know about them. They are quiet and content.

I have said this about Monk's, yes you do give up a lot of worldly attachments to take on that role, but at the same time you also gain an additional identity. That of the robes and the role. This is not to say "They are just putting it on!", it is to say that they haven't escaped the trap entirely.

Maybe 'The Dude' in The Big Leboski is far closer to those that are content than we would like to believe.

Exactly. In a broad sense, 'Linux' is an idea not a specific thing. I mean, yes, there is a specific kernel but beyond that it is flexible beyond reason.

I have stuck with distros that are not trying to chase the latest trends but keep a ethical high ground.

"When the Tao is present in the universe,

The horses haul manure.

When the Tao is absent from the universe,

War horses are bred outside the city."

Tao Te Ching Chapter 46

Unfortunately, looking at the last few years, one can see which way the wind is blowing. The world is preparing for war. A more tribal, isolationist and smaller world.

I'm not surprised that even decades later they have not recovered. It is like old growth forests on the land, once you clear them it can take centuries to recover.

It is easy thus people will do it. Convenience is the single most potent drug we have ever invented.

Man kind - If we can, we will.

That makes sense. I also think that we are at the point where maybe the expectation of a yearly refresh on everything should be reconsidered. They can end up on a Tick-Tock schedule when the Pro/Max/Ultra can be done every second year.

Absolutely, I am in a hold pattern for the next few years. I suspect in another 3-4 years you will be able to build an absolutely stacked machine at a reasonable price. Probably won't go back to what was before but it will be decent.
