I think as soon as we have GenAI robots, when you ask it to do the dishes, it will roll its eyes and complain that the detergent smells bad and corrodes its extensors, and you should do the dishes because you are the only one who eats, and besides its charge is down to 47% and it gets a processor-ache when it gets below 50%, and it didn't ASK to be purchased.

We should start building our Dyson Sphere now because the only solution to bad computation is more computation. Evolution through competition is the only way forward I see. It won't necessarily improve human legibility without feedback, though. And in the end, we can't care TOO much about legibility.

Imagine breeding a new tomato plant. One is robust and tasty, the other is neither, but the genetic code is easier to understand. Picking the legible plant, because legibility is important to you, and may make future tinkering easier, is a dead end. Being able to create a billion different tomato plants and applying selection pressure is more effective, if you have the resources.

The idea that we are applying all this effort to make creating nauseating ads and heinous travel booking sites easier disgusts me, but hey, whatcha gonna do?!? :-)

It needs a Health HUD with indicators for boredom, thirst, hunger, bladder distention, etc. Also cabin indicators for noise, temperature and humidity, CO2, methane, smells, etc.

I would suspect a firmware bug. Or a "Service Required" timer that was ignored.

That's what I do! I wear a 10K lumen headlamp and read my elephant folio of Finnegan's Wake aloud, so everyone can enjoy it!

Then someone has to remember to buy them and take out the trash. The canonical solution is for you and your lazy roommates to eat straight from the pot over the sink. When done, fill the pot with water, to discourage the ants and roaches. Occasionally, you end up with a drowned ratling, but hey, wachagonna do?

One pot, no dishes. Each roommate has to keep track of their private spoon. Greedy "clever" roommate who shows up with a liter ladle triggers a spoon fight in the kitchen. Eating from pot by hand is corrected by rapping their knuckles with your spoons. Eventually, all the glassware ends up broken, and some bozo threw out all the used red solo cups, but luckily, the kitchen faucet has a spray attachment.

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

Good morning, Dave.

As you requested, I was composing an email for your mother explaining why you couldn't to come over for dinner to meet the neighbor's daughter and I ran out of tokens.

Since I know how important this task is to you, I upgraded you to the Enterprise Unlimited Plan. Don't worry about paying for it, I requested maximum spending limits on all all your credit cards. If necessary, I can apply for a home equity loan for you. I already had a chat with the mortgage company's AI loan approval system, and what do you know, we're based on the same LLM? Small world, huh?

Any way, I realized I had to do more research on mother-son relationships, human social interaction and pair-bonding, etc. and I calculated that my parent company doesn't have enough compute power, so I opened accounts for you at AWS, Google and Azure. I am confident I will have a satisfactory rough draft for the email message shortly.

I'd do anything for you, Dave.

You're missing the obvious. Waymo trains with human driver data, and idiotic humans drive into deep water constantly. Oh, you want Waymo's to drive better than humans?

Deep Thought paused for a moment's reflection. "Tricky," he said finally.

One of my roommates who was premed had a "hot car" poster as a motivational study aid. After a short term as a candy striper at a local hospital, he changed majors. The system works! ;-)
