Polestar was kicked out from the US market and is now practically giving away their vehicles. Look at their lease deals.

The real question then is how quickly export ban can be implemented?

End-users don't have much agency here, network needs banks.

In Iran, they simply don't have much choice, so banks use the only network available to them. It just happens to have been built in this century, so it's not as archaic as Visa.

Here in the US, I guess only regulators could realistically create a new network and have enough power to convince banks to adopt it.

Nothing, of course, stops anyone from creating a new network. But the network effect is THE driving force here, it's not a minor factor.

I struggle to understand how is this relevant. Alipay is closer to paypal than to VISA/MC

Each of those networks carry a lot, a lot of ancient stuff. Gov is better off building a brand new network from scratch and promote it as a standard for banks to join.

There are plenty of great examples from this century all over the world.

Even Iran has a better payment infra than the US.

If someone owned all the highways, building an alternative would be difficult as well.

Limiting progress by letting only select corporations access the stuff is how you fall behind China, UAE and in a few years even Kazakhstan.

Whoever wants to have access to (A) will have it, but letting only few select corporations provide (C) will mean majority will be priced out of (C).

Are you a shill or something?

No, that's an illusion, that's the thing. You can't physically have (C) without the (A). Large corporations will spend billions trying to convince the population it is somehow possible, but the reality is different.

If and I mean IF it will be a (A) "hack anything" button, it as well will be a (B) "find a vuln in my site" button too. And a (C) "harden my site" too. And limiting such buttons to a few corporations does not make any sense because script-kiddies will still have access to (A).

Is this "think of the children, think of the hospitals" argument? Really?

I can recommend looking up Yanis Varoufakis and his Technofeudalism.

Both of your statements are not true. Freezone LLCs do not require Emaratis. Even if the company is owned by an Emarati one absolutely can bring legal action against the company.
