And Zig doesn’t seem to help with most of that!

If you’re already in your spec thinking about performance concerns at that level, then you can get pretty good performance in almost any language, though some languages might make it a little (lot) easier than others. But again I don’t think eg Zig vs Rust would be a big perf difference there.

The middle part is most likely that many will die. (This is not an endorsement!)

ETH has no impact on most of cryptography, as it was never based on NP-hardness in the first place.

You guys are acting like you can only live at one of two extremes: purely self-motivated, or purely grade driven.

For most students it’s a mix of the two.

lol yes, a monkey with no mathematical training but an army of agents is a better mathematician than a literal fields medallist.

In many fields research outputs are published on completely-free-to-access preprint servers.

Please, that’s just bullshit. Humans have been at the forefront of intelligent reasoning for millennia. A few dozen results by AI don’t change that.

Indeed, as we speak mathematicians are taking the time and effort to (successfully) digest and explain these results.

What a facile statement. Yes things change in life, but as society we try to avoid changes that rapidly render people and their lives worthless.

I mean yes, part of our understanding of systems is a social one!

The algorithm from OpenAI works also in prime-order finite fields. Such FFTs are used all over the place in cryptography. So clearly their result is not useless and works in a realistic computational model

Again, it's not very easy to bring relatives like that, especially siblings.

How does 65000 workers translate to millions of unskilled relatives? Even green cards for relatives are a nontrivial process.
