This idea that somehow it just starts with small things, and then before you know it, the Third Reich is back. Come on. It's 2026.
Today simply waving the flag of your own nation is almost a crime in some countries. We've completely lost it.
Is this just a productivity thing?
Out of the top of my head I can't think of a lot of use cases but maybe RSS? Maybe I could ask it to give me a summary of cool tech news for each morning, and on very specific topics too?
Not sure what else I'd use it for.
Only takes a little bit of tweaking to remove all the fluff from Start menu including internet searches and you're done.
Many of these options are even surfaced by Microsoft directly in the Settings.
For example, these steps are pretty easy to follow, half of these are surfaced directly in Settings:

It's not that complicated. Yeah you have to spend an hour or two after install looking up some guides, tweak some registry keys & turn off a bunch of default Settings.
Then you have practically zero nags.
Also no need to update 600+ MB every friggin day like on Ubuntu...
The Windows dunking is getting old.
Few times I asked Claude to edit a photo it says it can't, or it produced soemthing awful by running some python library.
I don't get it. Can Claude do any image gen at all? Does it just delegate tasks to other tools to make the video or can it actually produce video?
Up until recently, you'd pay someone else to create these. The organizer of an event or concert doesn't have the artistic talent to create these, nor skills in design/Photoshop apps.
Now the organizers of those events, understandaly, go to ChatGPT so they don't have to pay someone else, and this is the result.
That said it's likely for many the results are "good enough" and the designers job is effectively lost to AI. I doubt some random small event organizer sees the value in paying someone else to use AI to make them a slightly more original poster/flyer.
I'm not sure even over time we will see people appreciate the need for skill in using these tools because there will be more noob-friendly apps that do all the prompting for you. For example in this article it's clear one could make a "make a poster" app where you just click a few buttons to pick a style, and end up with more varied designs just like in the article, and with no need for another skilled person.
So the question still remains...

I rarely see people use that feature yet tons of repos on Github are essentially dead.
The game always looks far more dramatic in the trailers than it actually is in practice.
One example that struck me is how they show players flying in formation while in practice that's almost impossible to do : your ship always flies faster or slower and it's really hard to follow someone else, even the NPC ships.
They also often show in trailers situations with 3-4 players doing all kind of cool stuff but the game never is that busy and multiplayer is still very janky you often dont see quite the same things as other players.
So I am excited about Light No Fire, but also not expecting something mindblowing. Unless they only port engine improvements, but no gameplay improvements from LNF and one hopes with LNF they really improved the combat mechanics which is the weakest element of NMS.
A far right government today may not be to everyone's liking, but it would obviously not look the same at all that something born out of the early 20th century consciousness.
