Those people arent just independently wealthy and want for nothing. They are ultra rich. They have power.

That’s very different from saying everybody can now have a life style that is above the poverty line and never have to work to keep that.

Spoken like someone who’s not tried to buy any computer anywhere in the last year.

All the pricing is bad everywhere.

So? It’s for your own fun. Who cares if another tool exists? Multiple things that do the same thing exist everywhere.

Apple used to have maintenance releases. They used to be known for their taste.

They should absolutely cop the criticism. It’s not like they don’t have the resources to make their software better.

All health professionals are hit or miss. Just like every other profession. You have to shop around and get 2nd opinions.

When you find a good provider it’s a real pain to have switch.

I’m in Australia though. Switching is cheap and easy.

Sure, we need redundancies and checks and balances in the system. You can’t trust everyone.

It’s not as though people who cheat the system aren’t reported or found out. Academics that lie in their research and companies that use loop holes are found out all the time. Maybe there is no will in some countries to do anything about it, but they are found out.

Which is why it’s not just up to a drug company to self approve itself.

I think his last point is important

* Could the AI solution be somehow misaligned by exploiting a weakness in the trial process or its math models?*

Maybe it’s a clumsy example but I think the difference is humans would follow the spirit of the trial process.

Could an AI find flaws in the process and then use them to get its drug passed? I think that’s the question.

Are you saying that the trail process is good enough that we shouldn’t worry about it?

I have heard the analysis by political pundits and I agree with it in context, but it’s still incredibly insane.

We basically cannot trust America anymore since its people have, as a whole, have lost the ability to reason and think critically. And the people in power want it that way. They prefer do disenfranchise most of their population so they can win elections using their core base who will believe anything.

Fair point. It was OEMs. But that’s normally how you got windows. I don’t use windows much these days so I have no idea what the modern annoyances are.

I’m not saying it’s not feasible. See Windows. The effort that Microsoft put into backwards compatibility was incredible. But it’s also questionable.

Even a good emulator might fix bugs that some piece of software relied on.

It’s certainly a shame if they got rid of Rosetta forever so hopefully it’s still available as an optional download.
