Check inertia.js. It’s the best of both worlds. We use it to bridge svelte with Laravel at work and I couldn’t be happier about this stack.

Can't wait for this trend of making absolutely everything rounded to go away. It looks so ugly.

oh yes, that's what I did. But I'd want to completely remove it, but having others not being able to reuse the same username later.

How does that even work if I'm removing my account?
Comment · 2 months ago
That doesn't work. Many people following me on Twitter only know me from Twitter and I don't have other means to reach out. Some others I'm not even interested in talking to them (not friends, just ex co-workers, ex gf, etc).

I do want to remove my account there.

But when I was doing it, I got a big warning that anyone could come up and register that handle for themselves. So I instead ended up just deleting every post, my personal details, and left the account alone (not using it anymore).

I know they do this intentionally (it's bad intentions all over the place on social networks nowadays, except HN, of course).

I'm terrified of somebody else just creating the account with the same handle I used to have, and impersonate me across old friends and contacts.

What do you suggest?

There's no reason for sites to look super ugly, full width and unreadable anymore.

"Forgejo is a self-hosted lightweight software forge"

That says absolutely nothing. The "What is Forgejo?" question is unanswered and instead you get a lot of words about their values, their inclusivity, etc. And the next thing in the docs is how to install it. It's ridiculous.

I still don't know what it is or what it does.

> Nothing in the JS ecosystem comes close to it in terms of simplicity and integration-level

Adonisjs has existed for more than 10 years. I’ve used Django for many years and I find Adonis way better (and ages more modern) than Django.

I'm very worried with all this bullshit around TVs.

I've been running the same Samsung UE40C6530 since 2010. It's 16 f'ng years and the thing works flawlessly like the first day. No other electronic device in my life worked so well, during so long.

But I'm about to move to a new home, and it feels like it's about time to get something more modern, at least a 4k TV.

But I'm honestly totally lost at what to buy. I do not want a "Smart" tv that's slow to start, bloated with crap, installing updates every day, and maybe even spying on me.

I want a plain, old, normal TV. If possible without Android or any advanced operating system. Just a TV. I'll plug external content myself, either via a Chromecast device, or something similar. I don't want my TV to be a full fledged computer.

Is there such a thing? What would you buy nowadays? It seems you're forced to get yet another computer to maintain and be worried about whatever you buy.

So you don't have a redundant server until $1marr?

That means you also don't apply updates to the server/kernel that require a reboot until then? Or you accept the downtime? And what happens if it doesn't boot properly?

And what do you do when you need more than one server, for redundancy or scaling to more servers?
