I'll grant that such things are largely subjective. But IMHO it's doomer-slop. It's just bad dystopian fiction. "Hey Claude, re-write the Paperclip Maximizer story, but frame it around a family instead."

Your credential is only one factor that determines your employability. Others include things like: competence, experience, personality, culture fit, and qualifications. Having a 10/10 credential is nice, but having a 0/10 in any other area is often still disqualifying.

tl;dr - LWN is raising their prices 20%.

I have no opinion since I'm not a subscriber, just adding for clarity since the title is ambiguous.

Windows 10 shipped with code that is from the 90's. Old does not necessarily mean bad. If it ain't broke.

There is no rogue AI. Only rogue and/or negligent people.

He makes a solid argument about liberty, ownership and the cultish behavior rampant among certain AI circles, then proposes the most unhinged examples possible to support it. I'm not sure if this is an effort to pre-empt critics (I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me), to be deliberately sensationalist, or if this is just a reflection of his local echo chamber.

Either way, there seems like a kernel of a good argument here. Perhaps someone else can rephrase it in a less schizoid manner. It would indeed be useful to have some credible rebuttal and balance to the doomer crowd.

Use the appeal form. When I got banned, it took a few months but I did get my account back.

In the meantime, I switched to OpenAI. Their latest models and codex are just as good if not better in my experience.
