I don't at all get the whole "making websites must feel like a 996 shift in a Nike sweatshop"

Software dev has never been a hard job

It's been so paint by numbers for years now for me it's incredibly boring mind numbing dead end toil

Oh never mind then; too needy and clingy

Well this update fixes your asteroid complaint then

Adds persistent asteroid belts, asteroid mining, and base building on asteroids

Go wild

Oh, everyone else's mistake; we didn't realize all of human output had to satisfy you...of all people!

"The old owner" was $platform

Read the TOS for these services ... you don't own anything stored on their servers

Not necessarily. Continued gains in compute efficiency and improved AI chips in your pocket doing more could reduce data center needs

> Doing the same thing for 23 years likely makes it difficult to have a proper perspective.

Preach.

Seems to twist perception that reality is a fractal when it's recursive and eventually exits (everything dies).

Explains religion, politics, and similar longtermism memes.

No where is it written here they shouldn't

Not everything needs to be a panacea to cover all edge cases

Legally a specific situation is often required

Imo it is a phony obligation to fragment people via feigned ignorance and willful ignorance, create liquidity of a sort in the litigation market making everyone fight the same fires over and over but that is currently how it works

Video games have always been part tech demo

And the story aspects are played out no different than Hollywood

NMS has more in common with Minecraft. It's a virtual chat room that looks Star Wars-y

Also don't discount simply not being a kid anymore. Biology isn't static. Memory does not allow for that same initial burst of excitement.

Truly the scourge of humanity

We must organize a special police unit to sweep the streets guns akimbo and end this public nightmare once and for all!

Oh noes; from the other side of an obvious Gulf of Information Assymetry an internet random unaware I am fluent on 3 musical instruments, have won awards for poetry, charcoal drawings and grow 1/4-1/3 of my vegetables each year... believes I have no soul

If you're only capable of reducing the entire comment to a single piece of it you would be wise to sit and meditate on comments first rather than vomit copy pasta opinions; the whole knee jerk copy pasta approach to social media discourse is soulless in its own way

Ugh; folding screens are so failure prone these things just exacerbate e-waste problems

Would rather ditch my phone size thing and be able to pair a cellular Watch to iPad Mini size thing that also has "50% more screen" than iPhone Max

Gen AI could take telemetry like GPS from Watch and recreate most adventures without need of all the pictures; I don't care if every little thing like a day hike is captured "for real"

Would still hire a photographer for actual meaningful moments like weddings and graduations

Solve logically? Sure.

Solve for how to implement and synthesize physically? Not likely.

Humans solved for launching rockets to the Moon on paper decades before it happened.

Pareto type thing; the logical work is the easy 80%. The last 20% is fighting physics.

There is no beating physics but there is still plenty of room for us to improve our understanding of it.

Which we weren't focused on at all sitting millions primates at well understood physical computers searching for Shakespeare Python and Ruby code yet merely getting same old contemporary software outputs.

"The market" for Tailwind only existed due to ignorance and obfuscation fueled by hype for web dev jobs.

Completely artificial market built on propaganda and low interest rate money printing. Same as the rest of SaaS. Nothing about the tech industry since the '08 crash has been organic investment. Was 100% collusion between government and private interests to manipulate public opinion.

> They've just got to do the next thing, which is find an AI-resistant steward of the project now.

Good luck with that:

Aside; all the leaked emails, chats, and going back further in time, telegrams, letters, travel logs on display in court yet the myth the economy is an organic free market this whole time persists

Such belief is nought but a quirk of biology that allowed humans to latch onto the idea Benevolent but Punitive Sky Wizard watches out for them; total cope. In Wealth of Nations Adam Smith called it the "invisible hand" and later came to realize he was wrong. He reconsidered and concluded the avarice of man will not be stopped by philosophy of national unity.
