I heard about this a couple months ago, with largely the same sales pitch: "We're looking for software developers to help rebuild the government's systems. You won't make as much as you make in the private sector. You should think of it as a tour of duty. And we're looking for 500 people! Also you'll be relocating to DC."
If I was rebuilding important systems, I'd happily take 300 people at market rates over 500 people at government salaries. -_-;
