Previously: Most recently worked in a hybrid capacity here in Vancouver at Flagler Health. Highlights include the construction of the PDF billing report pipeline, and was responsible for migrating a majority of our Node.js job queue to Temporal.io, during which I was—in some specific cases—able to extract significant performance improvements though better use of concurrency and reducing roundtrips to mongodb. I regularly paired with juniors in a mentorship capacity, and I'd be happy to do so again. I enjoyed working with my immediate team and enjoyed getting out of the house semi-frequently. I have a strong background in frontend, and enjoy messy unglamorous work that nonetheless improves some part of someone's life.

Currently: Touching grass, climbing, learning.

Goal: I'm based out of Vancouver, but happy to discuss different remote arrangements globally or hybrid in Vancouver, Canada. I enjoy working on distributed computing workflows, sticky legacy problems, improving UX and DX, concurrency optimizations, and overall making useful products with a good team.

While I am a regular user of various local models, frontier models, and use them in multiple harnesses, I am not what anyone would call "all in on AI". I'm not lovingly handcrafting every line of code, but I'm not just reviewing output, which is mind-numbing and error-prone. LLMs are tools and I use them like tools.

Absolutely do not contact me if you don't have a concrete role or project to discuss. I'm not interested in data annotation or being posted to yet another slop job board, or a resume builder, or any kind of job recommendation service, or any job where an overwhelming majority of the work is entirely AI-driven.
