I agree with part of your point, but it also depends on what you call a powerhouse. It has its advantages and disadvantages. It's true that today Europe relies more on the outside for a lot of tech than the opposite, but it's changing and it's not the only measure of quality.

But I especially think your last point about old people is really both false and irrelevant. If I wanted to troll, I could say it's really dumb, just americans being americans.
