My partner got one at the same time as me (I'm the author of the blog post), and he loves it. I work from home so I'm usually attached to my laptop to meet my 'I need a big screen' itch, but he commutes daily and loves being able to open it up on the tube or bus.
I also massively overthink things. Realistically I should have just said "cool I'll keep it for a year or two and if it's not for me, I won't get another foldable". That's pretty much what my partner said. But unfortunately my brain doesn't work like that (yet!)
