The biggest purchase for my kids is health insurance, and healthcare overall.
State taxpayer funded universities are not that expensive. I figure if my kid is worthy and lucky enough, they will get a scholarship to the elite universities, or they can go to the state taxpayer funded ones for less.
If the state ones get too expensive, there is community college and or just starting an apprentice trade job.
