Lacuna is far more expensive and ~100x larger. If you knew what I know and started building it today (LLMs got cheaper).
Paper summaries cost ~$50k, concept extraction cost ~$25k, author profiles cost $25k, research proposals cost another $50k. So call it $150k for model calls.
It's also an online / updating daily so that costs too, plus infra, plus "spillage".
