I'm Luke from Kino. We make a video editor + MAM in the browser. Transcode opens Blackmagic RAW, RED R3D, ProRes, DNxHR, and MXF files in the browser (including the famously tricky OP-Atom). You can scrub rapidly, convert to H.264 or ProRes, all without installing anything or uploading footage.
We built this because the film editors and creators we work with still need a desktop app just to look at a clip from these cameras, and we want it to be a link instead.
The BRAW decoder builds on Paul B Mahol's FFmpeg BRAW decoder, which we ported to FFmpeg 8 and extended for newer files. For the R3D decoder, scrubbing uses quarter, eighth and sixteenth resolution, because a full 8K frame takes about 24 seconds on one core. Also, HDR clips convert to Rec.709 when they're tagged as PQ or HLG with BT.2020 colors.
We also built a ProRes encoder+decoder, but we instead merged our efforts with Vanilagy of Mediabunny fame. His turbores implementation is very much worth the hype.
