I really appreciate Hurst's honesty here about the frustration involved in building a company. It's easy to focus on the flashy success stories of startups whose "simple" idea goes straight to the moon. But discovering new science and using it to invent new products, not to mention finding markets for those things, is often an absolute slog. Taking this piece at face value, I admire Hurst's resilience and determination in the face of that slog.
