Which is why I think we need carbon pricing / tax. If the politicians focused on that then the forces of capitalism and startups would be unleashed to bring down co2. Instead they ban plastic straws while the Chinese burn another million tons of coal.
It could maybe be brought in quite gradually in a decade or two ahead so people have time to install renewables, heat pumps and the like.
