Built Pear just because I wanted to play Megabonk on my Mac.
Pear is a free, open-source macOS app that sets up a dedicated Windows Steam environment on Apple Silicon. It handles runtime setup and launching Steam. You sign in through Valve's Steam client, then install and play games you own.
The current release is 0.1.1 and requires Apple Silicon, macOS 15 or later, and Rosetta. It uses Wine 11.0 and DXMT 0.80. My work has focused on packaging these components, Steam startup, process management, and recovery.
Testing is still narrow: Megabonk on one M4 Pro, with more than 20 minutes of play, working input and audio, and saved progress after quitting and relaunching. Those gameplay checks used earlier Pear builds with the same runtime. Other Macs and games still need testing.
I wrote about the development process and architecture, with gameplay and app demos:

I'd appreciate feedback on first-run setup, Steam login, and results from other Apple Silicon Macs.
