I am not a mathematician, but from what I understand, mathematicians just do not not see this as progress. They see it as being robbed of potential progress. Mathematical progress is not achieved in the solutions to hard problems, it is achieved in the method of finding the solution. We are being robbed of the opportunity to find the solution by being handed the solutions.
