Two other stories in this vein: "The Machine Stops" (1909) by E.M. Forster and "Pump Six" (2008) by Paolo Bacigalupi. Very different milieus, but both deal with decadent, hedonistic futures where humanity coasts on legacy systems engineered by long-dead experts until they begin to break down and no one alive knows how to fix them.
