My friend tried to investigate the AI second opinion space, and was quickly shut down when putting in a proposal to the FDA. Apparently the net effect in patient outcomes because of a second opinion that isn’t verified/validated by a doctor was questionable enough for them to request clearer studies, proving the approach’s efficacy.
