These numbers are made up. I don't see how IP clearly makes things worse or better.

On one hand, yes, IP = monopoly = rents, as you say.

But on the other hand, no IP means economy of scale is a lot more important, and that favors huge corporations.

Which effect is bigger? I don't know.
