No, DEI is straight-up racism. It's grouping people by their skin color and evaluating the groups differently. For example, for an applicant with a 3.2-3.4 GPA and an MCAT of 24-26, the medical school acceptance rate in 2013-2016 was 6% for Asians, 8% for whites, 31% for hispanics, and 56% for black applicants: https://www.aei.org/economics/new-chart-illustrates-graphica....
