My dentist recently got a fancy 3D scanner courtesy of Invisalign. It's been very revealing to see such detailed views of all sides of my teeth and their various maladies. However, at >40, I suddenly have a crossbite which needs immediate treatment using... You guessed it, Invisalign!
I jest but I honestly have no idea whether or not this is a legit issue that is worth paying $$$$s for and/or if this is just someone shilling for a vendor to earn a kickback.
