I thought it was a commentary on how these dentist offices tend to employ attractive women. Similar to how the author mentions the white teeth, tanned skin, fancy waters, nice offices, form fitting scrubs. It is part of the image the business try to cultivate.

Well that and I assume the author is attracted to women.
