There is a strong human incentive to have a monorepo in a corporate environment. This is not a technical question.

An entire dept exists to make it work. Atomicity and security are other arguments. The larger the company, the stronger the incentive.

It's not something average software developers working elsewhere care about much.

Amazon seems to be the only big company bucking this trend.
