I have a couple of cheap VPS's because I'm too cheap to shell out for a business class internet connection, and my ISP gets grumpy if I start hosting sites and services from their 'residential' IP address. I use them for all kinds of stuff that I'm interested in. I have a fediverse server, a few personal websites, and icecast server, and so on.
