In my experience, https://discuss.python.org/ was also pretty trigger-happy with the account bans (for posting a link to an already-presented PyData presentation and code that was totally uncommercial). Eventually found a more obscure category with a much smaller number of participants to post it in where it got an OK reception. It seemed they were just completely overwhelmed with off-topic submissions in the high-volume categories, and this was before AI slop even came into its own.
