There's always a possibility they evaluated Rust / Go, concluded the agentic code in those languages is less maintainable / productive (for AI agents) than typescript, but didn't spell it out to avoid internet flame wars. For instance, recent Microsoft rewrite of copilot almost doubled the code size.
