I think this has to do ith the fact that Google does this on every single search page. They must be using a small model with a tiny context window to not be HEMORRHAGING money. I will say it is probably having the opposite effect than they were expecting. Rather than being the goto place to search the web using AI, it is tarnishing a brand they have spent 28 years building.
