The commentators in this thread are missing something important because they hate OpenAI so much. If I tell my AI agent to “go find public Australian health statistics” this should not be possible to make into a felony, even if the Australians put more files on the “publicly available” side than they intended to. It is going to be ordinary folks, researchers who politicians have an ax to grind against, etc, who will face the fallout from this. OpenAI will just achieve regulatory capture.
