This doesn't seem like a crazy take. The situation is horrible all around, and the reaction to the situation is hard to demonize from a humanistic point of view. This isn't the wealthy complaining about the homeless sleeping on benches. It's a dramatic crisis perpetuated by people who are not, largely, mentally ill in the sense that some homeless people are.
