Ask HN: Why does favoriting an article jump to my list of favorites?

When I upvote a comment, it doesn't jump me to my list of upvoted comments. I have never once actually wanted to see my favorites list after clicking the favorite button. I just want it to add the discussion to the list but keep me on the discussion page.
