Pardon my nitpick but in case it helps save anybody else's hearing: noise-canceling headphones are not hearing protection! Hearing protection devices create a physical barrier between the noise source and your ears. Noise-canceling headphones use a microphone to listen to your surroundings and create an inverse sound wave.
