Ask HN: What to do with a spare computer?

I'm about to get hold of a spare computer, and this thread from earlier today ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=429573 ) prompts this question:

What are some cool/useful things to do with a spare computer?

I'm looking for interesting extra functionality I can add to the house.

Thanks!
