My work primarily involves 'nix boxes that have to be very locked down and will be left in a place basically untouched for 20 years after I finish setting them up. Getting a reliable new binary of any sort on them is quite difficult, not least because we need to plan for things other far future people might be able to discover for troubleshooting down the line.
