Is it safe to give part of your domain url to redirect to someone else's website

So I have a domain.com I've been approached by some company in same industry to change dns of "somepart.domain.com" of my domain to redirect to their dns. That will drive them traffic and they will backlink to me there.

Is it safe or did anyone did it?
