Mammoet, the heavy-lift company, ganged together enough self-propelled modular transporters [1] to move a ship on land.[2] Each unit has 8 independently powered and steered axle lines, for 16 wheels. As many modules as necessary can be bolted together to make a huge moving platform. They're all networked, and coordinate steering and power.
