Applied to some lower-level remote work opportunities and they will issue a check to you, ask you to cash it via mobile app, it will not have company letterhead on it, and they will ask you to make [via mobile payment app] "working materials" payments before your bank has had time to fully clear the funds. Just wanted you all to be aware and not get burned.
