Ask HN: Year in Review for Dev Team

As the year is coming to a close, I was hoping to put together a summary outlining what we had accomplished as a dev team this year. Something sort of like a "super-pulse" view for the entire year on our several repos in Github Enterprise.

I want to answer questions like:

- How many PRs were merged this year

- How many new contributors we had

- How many releases were done

- How many github actions runs happened

- Growth rate of total lines of code

- When did certain things happen (most frequent days/times for commits, merges, etc.)

This is not an attempt to evaluate any specific developer on the team, rather to help people feel a sense of pride and accomplishment about what we achieved from a software development standpoint.

Has anybody else done this? Are there specific metrics or stats that you found insightful? Any hints on tools or scripts to help automate the data collection process?
