Ask HN: How do I learn about productionizing a hardware product

I am learning how to build a simple hardware device where you can press a button and it will send a network request to my backend. What's your recommended resource to learn about how to productionizing such products (beyond the programming part)?

My background is in software engineering so I can pick up Rasperry Pi or something similar fairly easily.
